Cogo Carbon Manager Pilot - Collision Repair Association

Help future proof our industry.

Leading insurers—IAG, Vero, AA Insurance, Tower, and FMG, working through the Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ), have partnered with sustainability fintech Cogo on a first-of-its-kind industry pilot. From May to September 2024, eligible collision repairers will have free access to the Cogo Carbon Manager app enabling you to measure, understand and report your business’s carbon footprint.

Why is this happening?

New mandatory climate-related legislation means insurers are among the first businesses in New Zealand required to disclose their supply chain emissions. This will have a direct flow-on impact to the hundreds of businesses they work with, including collision repairers.

Specifically, businesses within the claims supply chain may be asked to measure and report the emissions footprint of their operations back to insurers.

To help streamline this process and give business owners the tools to easily measure and understand your carbon emissions, some insurers want to know if using carbon accounting software is the best way to go about it.

What’s in it for Collision Repairers?

  • Easily measure and report your emissions data in one application for multiple insurers, reducing potential double handling and admin time.
  • Understand your emissions hot spots, seek efficiencies, and identify areas for improvement within your business.
  • Enhance your reputation by demonstrating a commitment to sustainability.

What’s in it for Insurers?

  • Industry aligned approach, leading to better data quality, shared capability, and a smoother experience for all.
  • Emissions data is calculated, managed, and distributed through a secure third-party application, allowing them to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Strengthen their relationship with collision repairers and help improve sustainability across both industries.
