Leading insurers—IAG, Vero, AA Insurance, Tower, and FMG, working through the Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ), have partnered with sustainability fintech Cogo on a first-of-its-kind industry pilot. From May to September 2024, eligible collision repairers will have free access to the Cogo Carbon Manager app enabling you to measure, understand and report your business’s carbon footprint.
Why is this happening?
New mandatory climate-related legislation means insurers are among the first businesses in New Zealand required to disclose their supply chain emissions. This will have a direct flow-on impact to the hundreds of businesses they work with, including collision repairers.
Specifically, businesses within the claims supply chain may be asked to measure and report the emissions footprint of their operations back to insurers.
To help streamline this process and give business owners the tools to easily measure and understand your carbon emissions, some insurers want to know if using carbon accounting software is the best way to go about it.

How to use Carbon Manager
Eligibility
You’ll be able to use the Cogo Carbon Manager at no cost if you’re an approved repairer with one or more insurers; IAG, Vero, AA Insurance, Tower or FMG, and you currently use Xero accounting software.
IMPORTANT: Starting July 1, MYOB customers can participate in the pilot. The success of this trial will determine the consideration for manual input and integration with other accounting software providers.
